Metropolitan Water District of Southern California On-Call Environmental Services Image

The largest water district in the western U.S., the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Met), contracts environmental compliance services on an as-needed basis to maintain and update critical water supply infrastructure while promoting responsible environmental stewardship.

ESA provides on-call environmental consulting services to Met, including CEQA compliance, permit acquisition (404, 401, 1601), focused biological surveys, biological monitoring, and general construction monitoring on behalf of Met's environmental planning team. ESA has prepared and implemented a restoration/enhancement plan and extension for an existing 404 permit, prepared CEQA compliance documentation for projects including the refurbishment of the Colorado River Aqueduct, and conducted regular monitoring of construction projects at several plants and pump stations.

ESA's sound science and solution-oriented approach are at the ready through a team of technical experts to meet Met's environmental compliance needs.
